Cape San Lucas

El Arco (Tha Arch)

A former catering port of Spanish galleons, Cape San Lucas is nowadays the most important tourist center of the peninsula of Baja California. In spite of the fact that it is smaller than beaches such as Cancún or Puerto Vallarta, it offers a great hotel network of first quality. The main characteristic of Cape San Lucas is the famous Arch, a rock formation which is the symbol of the extreme part of the peninsula, with a hole forming its arched form. You can get there through boats, coming from different points of the bay. Just there, among the group of rocks, is the small and quiet ‘Playa del Amor’ (Love’s Beach). Apart from its beaches, this is the ideal place for diving and snorkeling. You just need a swimming mask and a plunge to observe multiple species of colorful fish.Fishing is also a very common sport in the area. A wonderful spectacle happens in this place from January to March, with the arrival of blue whales. You will be able to observe, listen, and feel the beauty of these great mammals. The rest of Cape San Lucas is nightlife and fun. This small town is full of bars and discos, which seem to be the panacea of the American tourist.
