In 1970, the Mexican Government decided to build a luxurious tourist
center on a narrow sand strip bordering a lagoon in Yucatán.
Its name: Cancún.
With approximately 50 hotels along 23 kilometers, Cancún is the
main tourist destination of the Aztec country.
Its beaches have white sand, because they are composed by micro
plankton fossils, which give it that color, and make the water look
greenish.Cancún is a paradise to rest, enjoy the sun and
beaches. Its waters are warm, so you will be able to swim even at
night. Some of the southern beaches have wilder waves; nevertheless,
most of them are apt to swim.
Cancún beaches stretch along all the hotel zone. In Mexico,
beaches are public; then, you will be able to access all of them, even
though it means going through the hotels on the shore.
Cancún offers a lot of commerce, tourist-oriented, so you will
find craft of all the Republic. There is also a great number of good
restaurants and bars.Nightlife in Cancún is important, and the
environment is pretty cosmopolitan.
