Though some time ago Playa
del Carmen was only a small fishing town located in front
of Cozumel Island, thanks to the building of Cancún, more
and more visitors arrived, and nowadays it is one of the
most preferred tourist destinations of this area.
Its beaches are better than the ones in Cozumel, for
example, and its nightlife is full of emotions and
happiness. Besides, it is a very recommendable place for
diving.
The way of living in Playa del Carmen is liberal and very
relaxed; it is common bumping into people practicing
topless sitting in the sun on the beach, and a kilometer
to the north of the main beach, nudism is optional.
This is the ideal place to rest, sit in the sun, enjoy
warm waters and relax. When the sun starts going down, the
night brings fun, mainly in the 5th Av. Where it is nice
to sit and have something to drink taking advantage of the
‘happy hour.’
