 Xcaret

Juego de Pelota (Ball Game)

Xcaret, which means ‘small port’ is nowadays a thematic ecological-archeological park. Among the jungle vegetation, its green turquoise waters, and all the infrastructure of the park, perhaps the most remarkable thing it has are the Mayan ruins found there, a group of eight buildings, the old port and ceremonial center of that culture. Also, the park has built a small Mayan village, which recreates the way of living and development of this people.
Xcaret is also a place of water activities, specially snorkeling, along incredible underground rivers, reachable through wells or ‘cenotes.’ It is also possible to live the incredible experience of swimming with dolphins. Xcaret Park is rich in flora and fauna; you will be able to see crocodiles, turtles, jaguars, wild birds and butterflies, whereas at night there are shows of some Mayan traditions.
